Seeking salvation
I stopped into a church
a priest led my procession
I could feel the coffin lurch
He said
You are
You are what you are, oh
Surrender
ego to the soul
Now I have become
comfortably loved
Desiring direction
I chanced upon New Age
my therapist would chant
and smudge me with her sage
She said
You are
You are what you are, oh
Surrender
ego to the soul
Now I have become
comfortably loved
Voices
giving me the word
Voices
struggling to be heard
They say
You are
You are what you are, oh
Surrender
ego to the soul
Now I have become
comfortably loved
Trekking in Tibet
I climbed into a cave
when I was ready to emerge
a voice came through in waves
It said
You are
You are what you are, oh
Surrender
ego to the soul
Now I have become
comfortably loved
